Sunshine Coast

We first discovered the Sunshine coast through friends who had bought land up there. The strange thing about the coast is that you would miss how lovely it is if you were simply to drive up the highway that connects Gibson's Landing at the south end to Power River at the north end (or Lund if you go right to the end of the road). It is only when you peel off the highway and take a look at the wonderful communities of Robert's Creek, Smuggler's Cove, Madeira Park, Pender Harbour, Egmont, that you get an accurate picture of what it is all like.

Our hotspots are:

• Francis Peninsula - great for hikes
• Skookumchuk Narrows - a good hike and wonderful kayaking, and a weird natural phenomenon of tides rushing through the narrows.
